Folkcraft Instruments
Thursday September 27th at 7:00 PM
22133 Main Street, Woodburn, IN  46797

Folkcraft Instruments has been building heirloom quality dulcimers, ukuleles, and other instruments in Woodburn Indiana since 1969.  This is a family business, with two generations of luthiers (one who makes or repairs lutes and other string instruments – thank you Wikipedia) putting their skill and experience into every instrument they create.  Check out their website at www.folkcraft.com  They also offer make-your-own kits for these instruments.

Directions to Folkcraft Instruments:  Take US 24 East to Woodburn, take a right on N. Webster Road then a quick left on to Woodburn Road.  Woodburn Road turns into Main Street.  Folkcraft is just past the Post Office.

2nd Annual Fort Wayne Regional Maker Faire

The 2nd annual Fort Wayne Regional Maker Faire will take place October 6th and 7th at the Headwaters Park East Lincoln Pavilion.  This is a terrific family event that showcases engineering and technology with application and abstract engineering and design.  Please visit TekVenture.org for more information.

Engineers’ News Past

The FWEC has a significant history; Treasurer Ryan Stark and his wife were able to find past Engineers News documents dating back to 1939!  Here is an excerpt of the past newsletter (a scanned copy of the entire newsletter is available through the FWEC website):

Engineers’ News December, 1939

5 REELS OF MOTION PICTURES
Five reels of sound motion pictures will be included depicting, “The Story of Gasoline”, “The Story of Lubricating Oil”, and “Automotive Lubrication”.  All of these films are considered among the finest, the silent version being used extensively by the Bureau of Mines at both the New York and San Francisco World’s Fairs.

These films are the property of the Standard Oil Company and will be shown by them on their own equipment insuring us good results.

Our speaker was graduated from Purdue University in 1923 and has been employed with the Standard Oil Company since that time.

Let’s all turn out on Thursday and make this a “Bang-up” meeting.  Our Program Committee is working very hard to make these meetings interesting and we must give them our whole-hearted support.
