October Tour History

FWEC Treasurer Ryan Stark provides the October tour history.
The club toured Reelcraft industries on Thursday October 24th.  Halloween preparations must have been in full swing because the tour was lightly attended (only 7 club members showed up) but those who did attend treated to a very interesting night.  Reelcraft makes hose reels of all different shapes and sizes.  They are owned by SKF Group (mainly known for bearings), but have been located in Columbia City since 1971.  There are a lot of different applications for reels, anything from underground reels used to water lawns at major league baseball stadiums, to stainless steel reels used in the food service industry, to electric cord reels with trouble-lights attached.  The assembly process is very labor intensive due to the wide selections of reels that they make, but that doesn’t mean they don’t take every step possible to streamline operations like assembly and packaging.  A big thanks to Ed Walter (Director of Engineering) and to Todd Bredice (Director of Quality) for taking the time to host out tour.  If you are ever in the market for a high-quality hose reel, you can check them out at this link:
